Our Mission
Our Mission
We exist to glorify God in all things, by making disciples through the gospel of Jesus Christ, that they may discover ultimate joy and freedom in Him.
Our Core Values
There are many things that are important to us as a congregation, but there are four core values that we hold up above other things. These four values help us stay close to our mission of helping people experience the joy and freedom of Jesus, for the glory of God.
Worship
We were created to worship. God’s design for humanity was to love Him and enjoy Him forever. But since the fall of humanity man has been worshiping other things (Romans 1:21-23). All of our thoughts, words, actions and desires are an act of worship, whether that to be toward our Creator or toward His creation. 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that we should do all things for the glory of God.
We want to help direct peoples worship back to God. Through the gathering of the saint in a corporate service we hope to help people worship the Creator instead of the created. In this setting we worship through remembering the gospel in preaching, teaching, singing, praying and the celebration of the ordinances of baptism and communion.
Community
The Christian faith is not meant to be lived in isolation. God has made us to be relational creatures, in relationship with Him and with others. The local church is not just a place where we gather for a worship service, but a place in which we live out this design. In 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 we are told that we are members of the body, telling us that there is an expectation that we must contribute to that body for the glory of God.
True community is not about mere attendance or casual involvement. It is where love and care is displayed with consistency and authenticity. This kind of community is not built with just a hour a week, but with constant effort throughout the week. Whether that be in home groups, Sunday school classes or other intimate settings.
Service
The term servant should be synonymous with the title Christian. Our example, Jesus, was the perfect picture of servanthood. This role was not forced upon Him, but was a result of His character; loving, kind, compassionate, gracious and merciful. The Christian’s attitudes and desires should start to reflect the character of Jesus Christ.
Because of the power of the gospel to give us new desires, we desire to serve others and not ourselves. There are many opportunities to serve others, both on and off our campus. Whatever talent the Lord has given you, we want to help you develop and use your talent to the utmost.
John 13:1-20 & 2 Corinthians 8:1-15
Multiplication
We are motivated to multiply, because of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:18-20. Multiplication is not about getting others to look more like you, but helping others find the ultimate joy and freedom that is only found in Christ. The gospel transforms the dead to life.
Multiplication does not take place one hour a week or only in a church building. We know that multiplication takes place over an extended amount of time and is not central to only one location. We understand that multiplication needs to take place at a small group Bible study, a soccer field and on foreign soil. We are disciples making disciples.
